At Skyline Psychology, we work collaboratively with general practitioners to provide structured, evidence-based psychological care for adults and adolescents. Our approach prioritises clear formulation, appropriate treatment planning, and timely communication with referrers where clinically indicated.

We aim to support GPs by offering a reliable referral pathway that is clinically grounded, ethically sound, and responsive to patient needs.
Who we see
We provide assessment and psychological treatment for children, adolescents and adults presenting with a range of concerns, including:
-
Anxiety disorders
-
Depression and mood difficulties
-
Trauma-related presentations
-
Stress and adjustment difficulties
-
Interpersonal and relational difficulties
-
Difficulties with emotion regulation
-
Substance use concerns
We do not provide crisis services or acute inpatient care, and we will advise referrers where alternative or higher-level services may be more appropriate.
Our clinical approach
Patients are typically offered an initial consultation focused on understanding their presentation, relevant history, and current stressors. This session is used to develop an initial formulation and to consider the most appropriate next steps.
Where ongoing therapy is indicated, treatment is guided by evidence-based approaches tailored to the individual, including CBT-informed, ACT-informed, trauma-informed, and integrative psychological interventions.
Treatment planning is collaborative, paced, and reviewed over time rather than assumed at the outset.
Communication with referrers
With patient consent, we are available to provide:
-
Initial acknowledgement of referral
-
Brief progress updates where clinically appropriate
-
Treatment summaries upon completion of care
-
Liaison regarding risk, capacity for work, or changes in clinical status

We aim to communicate clearly and concisely, mindful of GP time constraints.
Mental Health Treatment Plans and referrals
We accept referrals under the Better Access initiative with a valid Mental Health Treatment Plan. Patients may also attend privately without a referral.
Where referral documentation is incomplete or clarification is required, our admin team will liaise directly with the patient to minimise disruption to GP workflows.
