Thank you for coming to this part of the site and welcome. My name is Shane and I'm a Clinical Psychologist, AHPRA Approved Supervisor, and the practice owner. Please drop me a line and say hello. It would be great to hear from you.

If you're here, you may be wondering about what it might be like to work at Skyline Psychology, so let me tell you a bit about the place and how it came to be. 

​

I started working as a psychologist in 2010 and since then I have had the pleasure of working in different psychology roles and have experienced the highs and lows of working in public and private hospitals as well as private practice across different settings.

​

Skyline Psychology is an attempt to pool all of the very best aspects of psychology work that I've experienced across all the settings. Some examples of these include:

• Creating admin systems that aim to support clinicians and clients, and actively minimise pain points that can come up in a private practice. This frees you up to do your best work without worrying about the back end, we take care of that and also help you with resources you might need. 

• We also engage in continual marketing and like to feature our clinicians to the community and to GPs in the area. Your participation in this process makes it all the better.

• I provide supervision as part of your work at Skyline Psychology because I believe in the notion of continual growth and development. We encourage CPD and do our part to help you with it.

• Being an AHPRA approved Clinical Psychology Supervisor, we can support your clinical registrar program as well. 

• I've noticed that private practice can be lonely work, so we have 1 hour a day in the practice that is client free where clinicians and admin can have lunch and interact with each other if they choose.

• We've recently started a book club as well and we aim to meet every 4-6 weeks to discuss a book we've all read. We very much welcome suggestions from our staff about how to make the place better.

• Our new location is geared towards the comfort of our clients and clinicians.

We are always on the search for people who share our values and would like to be part of such a place. I believe psychology, and in particular private practice is a vocation and requires a particular blend of dedication, conscientiousness, and a spirit of service. ​​
